Contractarian Justification
of Natural Rights
Natural rights can be seen as an implicit contract about what people agree to by entering society or engaging with others:
If you won't aggress against me, I won't aggress against you.
This is Jan Narvison's contractarianism as put forth in The Libertarian Idea melded with Natural Rights theory.
Natural rights are basically the core moral principles - those common to all rational people. Rights are high level principles that can apply to various property systems, which are conventional or man-made.
A society that recognizes Natural Rights is a stateless society with a Nockian government.
