Ozark Voluntaryist Community

Liberate the Ozarks!

Who We Are

The Ozark Voluntaryist Community provides ways for people who value peace, freedom, and consent, and who live in Northwest Arkansas, Southern Missouri, and nearby areas, to get together, make friends, discuss ideas, and potentially help better people's lives and create freer communities through activism and outreach done outside the apparatus of the State.

We are an informal group of friends who hold a variety of opinions and political views, but we share a few core values and principles, respect each other despite our differences, and meet up regularly to enjoy one another's company. We have no official list of members. If you value peace, freedom, and consent, then feel free to consider yourself a member, and we hope you feel welcome among us.

What is Voluntaryism?

Conceptually, Voluntaryism is a very simple moral philosophy – it is the basic proposition that all human interaction should be directly consensual. Voluntaryism rejects the initiation of force in all its various forms including physical violence, threats of violence, theft, bullying, slavery, rape, murder, etc. However, unlike Pacifism, Voluntaryism does not bar the victim of coercion from responding in a strictly self-defensive manner. -  Peter Miller, Introduction to Voluntaryism

See the Non-Aggression page to learn the philosophy behind this.

What do those two little curves in the Voluntarism symbol mean? Hint: French aux arcs.

Meetups:

Our last meetup was on June 16 at Thai Spice in Fayetteville. We had a Discord live-stream, so several participated that way. Here is our Discord server address in case you want to participate: https://discord.gg/SyWTp5A

The previous Saturday, we had a wonderful pig roast at Issac's farm in the Missouri Ozarks. Wonderful! We had voluntaryists from all over Arkansas and Missouri, and even one from Wisconsin.
